Dennis Karr joined Newmark Grubb Knight Frank in 2002 as a managing director in the firm's Manhattan headquarters, where he focuses on representing corporate and multinational clients in real estate sales and leasing transactions. Over the course of his career, Mr. Karr has completed many major leasing transactions and has represented many tenants on multiple occasions. As the director of NGKF's China Initiative and an associate (American) member of the China General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC), Mr. Karr represents Chinese companies entering or expanding in Manhattan. Taking further advantage of his connection with the Chinese business community and using knowledge-based negotiation skills, he is able to leverage the national capacity of NGKF to assist international firms in their real estate requirements throughout the United States. Mr. Karr possesses over 30 years of commercial real estate experience. Prior to joining NGKF, he served as senior vice president at Harper-Lawrence Inc. He also held prominent positions at Jones Lang Wootton, where he was the partner in charge of coordinating leasing assignments between the United States and the firm's international offices, and at William White/Grubb & Ellis, where he served in a similar role. Mr. Karr is an active member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), where he serves on various committees and participates in The Speaker's Bureau. He is a former chairman of The Young Men's/Women's Real Estate Association. Mr. Karr is also a frequent speaker at professional group luncheons, seminars and classes. He created and taught the course, "Analyzing Lease Transactions," at New York University's Real Estate Institute. Active within his community, Mr. Karr serves as a trustee of Park Avenue Synagogue. Mr. Karr is a graduate of the New York University Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and the University of Rochester.
